When attempting to defend the indefensible Francis, the neo-con ultramontanist – among a few other hackneyed maneuvers – often resorts to the “careless, loquacious” defense. Something like this:
"Francis may lack the precision of Benedict XVI and perhaps is a bit too verbose during airplane interviews, so we should not take every word so seriously."
Yet the verbose, careless Francis has maintained quite a reticence regarding the dubia and now is sending in a surrogate. The neo-con ultramontanist will have to search the grab-bag for something different to spin this one. I am confident he will find some explanation; he always does.
